      The sources of the movies in the No Product series are 16mm advertising films that have been scratched, inked and defaced so as to obliterate the objects being sold.  Before satellite feeds, multiple film prints of commercials had to be shipped to local television stations for broadcast.  Consequently, a large number of these films remain in existence, often in a state of decay.  The advertisements at the time of their production were immensely powerful and widely seen.  Now they are obsolete, without commercial value, and shadows of their former selves, virtual garbage that is available to be transformed into something else.
